Alan’s career began as a tire-changer for Tire Warehouse in 1974. His story truly reflects the “work your way up” phenomenon we often hear about in business. Taking his valuable experience from Tire Warehouse, Alan secured a position as tire-salesman with Servco Hawaii. Then in 1987 he was referred to General Tire Company and took the position of commercial & fleet service manager. Unexpectedly, General Tire was sold in 1992. Alan decided to start a business for himself. In 1992 with 5 people and few customers, American Tire was born. American Tire merged with DLK Tire and Rainbow Tire in 2003, increasing their market share and retread capability.
